“MUSIC EXPRESSES THAT WHICH CANNOT BE SAID AND ON WHICH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE SILENT.”  VICTOR HUGO

I WAS DRAWN TO MUSIC...

as a little girl, and was apparently doodling notes and treble clefs before my parents thought I had even seen music notation. My mother started teaching me piano when I was five, and then I began formal lessons at seven. While in college I explored academic majors other than music since everyone said one couldn’t make a living in music. But music was my passion and I kept returning to it. I feel very fortunate to have made a career combining my love for music with my love for teaching. Although my primary instrument is piano, I have also played (with varying degrees of limited prowess!) guitar and banjo, and have sung in a variety of ensembles, including the Bach Society and the San Jose Symphonic Choir. Most recently I enjoyed being in a small woman’s vocal ensemble named Ladyesong.
